China’s drive for self-sufficiency in critical technologies, with Antonia Hmaidi

China has become a major science and technology power. Johannes Heller-John talks to Antonia Hmaidi about China’s drive to become self-sufficient in key technologies like AI, quantum or biotechnology. Antonia is a Senior Analyst and leads the data task force at MERICS. She is also the project lead of the MERICS China Tech Observatory which is supported by the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF).
